Number of houses sold in 2009 is going up & so are prices?
|
This month
it was reported that the number of houses sold has increased for
the third consecutive month, making April the
highest number sold since 2007.

Hysterical house buying is returning to the
market and we are now seeing bidding wars breaking out on
repossessions that in some cases had been on the market for months.
One property we enquired about originally on the market for £110,000
eventually sold for £122,000, with 3 buyers being gazumped halfway
through their purchase.
|
|
In another case we
experienced, between viewing the house and making an offer the
vendor
put
the price up by £5000! Don't be fooled into thinking
that this was just one savvy seller, we have noted that a lot of
houses particularly under £100,000 have increased in price
since first coming to market.
Sellers confidence is definitely back! |

Good news on stamp duty... |
|
In
last weeks budget the Chancellor
announced that the stamp duty exemption up to
£175,000 will be extended until the end of the year.
The stamp duty level is then expected to
return to its former level of £125,000, if you expect your purchase to
exceed £125,000, make the most of this opportunity, to be eligible for
the exemption your purchase must complete before 31st December. |
